Darwin arts identities and owners of Framed Gallery, Anne Phelan and John Clark were co-founders of the Australian Art Print Network (AAPN), a group of collaborators around Australia in the 1990s and early 2000s who specialised in commissioning limited edition prints. Anne and John were already operating Framed Gallery in Darwin in the 1990s when they initiated the network to facilitate the national and international promotion of First Nations artists. The Network members cooperated to source and edition high quality prints by outstanding and acclaimed artists in partnership with remote community art centres and individual artists in WA, NT, NSW and QLD. The editions were created by the artists during workshops facilitated by master printmakers including Theo Tremblay, Basil Hall and Franck Gohier (Red Hand Prints).

The prints in the Phelan/Clark collection includes prints made with: Warlayirti Artists (Balgo); Warlukurlangu Artists (Yuendumu); Munupi Arts & Crafts (Melville Island); Injalak Arts (Gunbalanya); Bula’bula Arts (Ramingining); Warnyaka Arts (Lajamanu); Tiwi Design (Bathurst Island); Warringarri Arts (Kununurra) and Warmun. Individual artists inlcuding Jimmy Pike, Arone Meeks and Bronwyn Bancroft and Torres Strait Islander artists including Dennis Nona and Glen Mackie.
