Fresh from Maubere Mountain Coffee Cooperative
We are thrilled to stock this coffee. It’s actually wild harvested (true story!), the cherries are picked from bushes growing in hills near Laclubar. It’s couriered direct to Darwin from Timor-Leste by kindly folk (mainly medicos) who want to support the project. The coffee is roasted in the day(s) just before it leaves the country so it’s FRESH. Nevio (photo) is our key contact person/facilitator. He has been involved with the Project as a taster/quality assurance person and now works at Menzies School of Health in Darwin.
In case you didn’t know, Timor-Leste has had an excruciatingly difficult couple of years, with COVID and then massive flooding and mudslides in April 2021. This is a way to help out.
